9/5/10
When the Legislature decided to set up a “Labor Day” their plan was to have a day to
recognize the people in America that too often are not appreciated.  They are not the
people that invented the automobiles but they are the people that make them.  They
are truck drivers and dock workers.  They are assembly line workers who make the items.
They are the salesmen who sell the items and the clerks that keep the records.  They
are the builders who put up the buildings and the custodians that keep them clean.
They are untrained labor and highly trained technicians.  They are the best in the
world.  They are the labor force of America and they should indeed be recognized.

The church also has its labor force and too often they too are not appreciated.  They are
the people that work to make the many ministries of the church succeed.  They
make bulletins, sweep floors, mow lawns, fix plumbing, cook food, clean floors,
keep records, teach classes and babysit.  They do whatever is needed and unlike
most of America’s work force these people work for nothing.
Thanks to you on Labor Day.
