Everyone loves a great story and the newspapers and many reporters are jumping on the
bandwagon in the story of our girl’s basketball team. Most of you will remember the sad situation
in which we lost our girl’s basketball coach in a tragic car accident on January 9 of this year. It
could have been devastating to the team and they would have had a great excuse to just
basically fold but they did not. A lady stepped forward and volunteered her services to
coach the team for the rest of the year and the team, after a few bumpy spots, came together
and won the district championship. Today is Wednesday and tonight we will be
playing for the Sectional Championship. If we can win that game, just one more win
and we will be in the Final Four for State Championship. This is truly a great story.
Everyone likes to hear of a person or group persevering and coming out victorious
over great odds. Well, have I got a story for you. It’s called the Easter story and we will be
celebrating it over the next three Sundays in a series of messages called, “Hope!”
