1/13/08It is a busy time at our school as we now have six different basketball teams needingto use one gym for practice. Needless to say it is no small thing workingout that schedule. One thing that is not an option however, is not practicing. If that decision were made there would be an outcry from the teams, the coachesand the parents. It is just a given that the teams must practice. The old adage is: “Practice makes perfect.”
It seems interesting that we understand this concept in sports and sometimesforget its value in other facets of life. For instance, we know itis difficult to forgive yet the more we practice forgiveness the easier itbecomes. This is also true for such things as tithing, regular Biblereading, daily prayer and witnessing. In fact, as a coach Ibelieved that you should practice a skill until it became your reflex action.Wouldn’t that same concept also work with our spiritual activities?Bob
