Just a few weeks ago while we were on vacation in Eureka Springs with our family, I
learned a great lesson of why Jesus said that we have to
become like little children to come to Him.

We were planning to go to The Passion Play and my wife felt it would be good to prepare
our four-year-old grandson for what he is going to see.  He knows who Jesus is and
he is quite thoughtful and observant and she felt he might be upset by the play, so she
told him it would be about Jesus and when he was crucified.  She explained how
Jesus would be crucified, die and then come back to life again.  After a while
Trace asked, “Why did Jesus have to be crucified and die?”  The question was
quickly relegated to me and I gave him a straight answer.  I said, “We all have done
bad things and it is called sin and because of these sins, Jesus had to die so we
could be forgiven.  After several minutes of thought, Trace said, “Poppy, we
should tell Jesus we are sorry.”  He is four and he got it.
Why do we make it seem so difficult?
