12/11/05I guess I am getting older and as you do that, it seems that for most of us we becomemore conservative in our attitudes. But it is interesting to me the many changes Iam seeing. For instance, I was caught off guard when a lady on the TV, a soldier, was wishing her grandchildren a Merry Christmas from Iraq. That shocked me asto the changing times of our Military. I have been amazed what a big deal it hasbecome to say something as traditional as "Merry Christmas" in any communicationfrom the greeting at a store to the Christmas Cards sent out by the President fromthe White House. But amid all this, I am still pleased to see that some things neverchange. Such as the stars in the eyes of children as they see the Christmas presentsor the bright Christmas lights. Or the glow in the eyes of older people as theyremember Christmases of the past. Or the wonder we find when we rememberthe love that gave us the true meaning of Christmas. It is not wrong to change, but as we change, let's be very careful thatwe do not lose things of great value in the process.Bob
