When we celebrated Christmas here at my home with Bobbie’s folks and my children
and grandchildren, we had a wonderful time.  After lunch, the children opened
their gifts and Trace, my youngest grandson, had one very special present that
all of us went together to purchase.  It is an electric four-wheeler that he can
ride with a little trailer to pull behind.  To say the least, he was very excited and
pleased.  Later that afternoon, he came over to me as I sat on the couch
and with outstretched hands and wide blue eyes said, “Poppy, Santa won’t
need to bring me anything now because I have everything!”  I
told him he was truly very fortunate, but I thought Santa
might just have more for him.

The simple truth that is spoken by a child is more profound than all the well-spoken
phrases of man.  So I say to my father, “Thank you God for what you have given
me, because, I too have everything!”  And the beauty is that,
like Trace, God has more for me yet.
