12/7/03As Jason and I were going through some of the old coats that we had between us, we werediscussing whether or not some of them were good enough to put into the bags. Someshowed wear and others a spot or two that would not wash out and one had several spotsof paint on it. Others were only jackets and we wondered if that would be something peoplewould want to receive. As we were trying to decide, Jason said, “I guess any of these would befine if you didn’t have a coat at all.” With this statement, I had to agree.
The more I thought about it, the more I tried to understand just what it would be like to not evenbe able to afford enough clothes to stay warm. I have to admit I have never been in any situationnearly that bad. There have been times when finances were short and I had to carefully thinkof how to plan to have enough gas money to make it through the week, but never have I neededsomething as basic as a coat. I am truly blessed and I pause at this time tothank God for his abundant blessings on me.Bob
