Occasionally, we need to be reminded of what is really important in life.  Oh yes, we feel
we have a good handle on it most of the time, but the fact is we sometimes forget
that most everything in life that we work so hard to have and keep will someday
be of little value.  In his book, “The Purpose Driven Life”,
Rick Warren tells a great story to illustrate the point.

A well-known TV Bible teacher was a champion college tennis player.  Many times he
\had taken friends and family to the trophy case to show them the championship trophy
displayed at the college.  One day to his surprise, he received his trophy in the mail.  It seemed
that someone had found it in the trash and fortunately knew who he was and mailed it to him.
Remodeling and renovations had made it necessary to make the trophy case smaller and
his trophy was one of several that were trashed.  We must remember that everything we own will
someday be trash and maybe that will help us keep what is really important in focus.
Actually, very few things of value come in life due to just luck, some maybe, but very few.
So is the case in the growth of a church also.  It takes God’s blessing to make it happen,
but most often he blesses our efforts and hard work.
