           Over the next few weeks we will be exploring some of the heroes of the

Old Testament.  Some of these men seem to be superhuman in the way they lived

their lives and the things that they were able to accomplish.  Some seemed to be born

to greatness while others had to be dragged into it.  Some began small while

others seemed to be great at a very young age.  Some gradually became

important figures while others seemed to appear out of nowhere.  But all the heroes

we will look at had one thing in common they all had glaring weaknesses which caused

them great struggles.  That is to say, they were all heroes,

but they all had bullet holes.

Sometimes we may feel that we have too many weaknesses

and therefore we could never do anything great, not even for God.  But it is my

hope that this series will help us all see that heroes have bullet holes too

and that perfection is not a requirement to do great things for God.
